Description
Onyx Marble Gava / Tea Pot Set
Serve gava (kahwa) and green tea the way it is served in the best Pashtun and Kashmiri homes: from a polished onyx marble tea set. The teapot and cups are carved from natural onyx and polished to a glassy finish, so every piece shows its own bands and veins of colour. It is as much a decor piece as a tea set.
Why Onyx?
Onyx is a natural banded stone, and Pakistan, especially Balochistan, is known for it. Artisans cut, carve and polish each piece by hand, which brings out the swirling patterns inside the stone. Because the veining is natural, no two sets look exactly alike, and the colours in your set will differ slightly from the photos.

| Finish | High polish with natural veining |

How to Serve Gava in It
Warm the teapot and cups with warm (not boiling) water first, then pour the tea in. This avoids a sudden temperature shock to the stone. Brew your green tea with cardamom, add sugar or honey to taste, and serve in the small cups with a few almonds on the side for a traditional touch.
Where It Looks Best
Between uses, display it on a sideboard, glass cabinet or coffee table. It makes a luxurious gift for weddings, housewarmings, Eid and corporate clients, and a memorable souvenir of Pakistan for friends abroad. For a ceramic option, see our blue pottery tea set.
Care Tips
- Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry straight away.
- Avoid harsh cleaners, acidic liquids left standing, and the dishwasher.
- Handle gently: marble is heavy and can chip if knocked.
